My teenage daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our six-night stay at Le Manoir. Le Manoir is perfectly located for exploring the medieval towns, chateaus, prehistoric sites, and the peaceful rivers and countryside of le Perigord Noir. We stayed in the Tobacco Barn, which was spacious (3br with ensuites), clean, comfortable, fully-equipped, and which opens to the pool and gazebo. When we were not out exploring the region we enjoyed the pool, beautiful walks near the property, and spectacular evenings dining in the gazebo, watching the sun set on Roque St. Christophe and the moon rise at dusk (truly serene).
We loved being hosted by Paul and Phillipa. They were warm and welcoming hosts - helpful, generous and happy. We hope to return to Le Manoir.

This was our second holiday in France and at Le Manoir Des Granges. We stayed in the Walnut Store which is a beautiful, typically French style one bedroomed gite. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you might need, including shared use of a chest freezer and washing machine, which were accessed just off the courtyard, there was also a clothes line, ironing board and iron (very handy if you are staying for a while). The bedroom has a door which opens directly onto the poolside where there were parasols, chairs and sunbeds. The pool was lovely and we wasted no time in getting in there to cool down. At the front of the Walnut Store we had our own little terrace where we could sit out and soak up the atmosphere whilst having our breakfast or evening meal. Le Moustier has a fantastic restaurant and boulangerie which are a 5 minute walk away, it was perfect. Our hosts Phillipa and Paul were really lovely and were there to give us advice on places to visit and the best markets, they even booked us a table at Le Table du Moustier on our first night so we didn't have to worry about finding somewhere to eat. They were very kind and helpful yet never intrusive. Thank you for a wonderful holiday (and for the lovely bottle of wine you left for us), we thoroughly enjoyed both and we hope to be back again soon.

This gite has its own private terrace so was ideal for us with our dog. Lovely gite in a beautiful location. Nice bottle of wine and walnut cake waiting on arrival. Much appreciated. Bakery and restaurant within a 5 min walk. The owners are extremely helpful, without being intrusive, suggesting places to visit and booking restaurants and the vet for us. The Dordogne is a beautiful part of the world and we will definitely be going back.

Our two families had a great week at Le Manoir. Communication with Philippa and Paul beforehand was a good level of detail and timely. The house is well proportioned with generous sized rooms which are all en suite. The house is lovely and historic with mature gardens. The secure pool with steps made access for our kids easy. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The house was spotless when we arrived. It is well located very close to the many attractions in the Dordogne which Philippa and Paul were happy to help with suggestions and recommendations for. Best for our family was the beautifully clean river 5 mins walk away for wild swimming and beach play. Thanks so much Philippa and Paul.

Second Visit in 5 Years - Wonderful Place, Great Hosts!
This was our second stay at Les Manoir de Granges in five years, both times were absolutely wonderful. One of us being of limited mobility (but ambulatory, no wheelchair) La Rocque Terrace's layout and furnishings were ideal. The gite is sited in a great location for doing the best of the Dordogne - there is something absolutely magical about drinking your morning coffee and watching the mist clear off the river to reveal the ancient site of Roc St Christophe, or, for that matter, sipping a chilled glass of Monbazillac and eating foi gras while watching the sunset paint the cliff face.
Paul and Philippa are superb hosts, welcoming and attentive to guests needs while at the same time allowing a healthy sense of space and privacy. We would definitely do this again (this time we were with them for three weeks) and have absolutely no reservations about recommending the gite to others.

We booked 4 nights at short notice. We had a restful break exploring the cave at Rouffignac and the Rocque St. Christophe over the river and enjoying meals at La Table de Moustier in the village, and the wine. Perfect! Thank you Philippa and Paul, we hope to see you again.

We booked the main house at fairly short notice last summer and enjoyed a comfortable fortnight here at the end of August. We had more than enough space and loved the pool and garden. The house had a lot of character, the beds were comfy and the kitchen very well equipped - not always the case, in our experience! The village is an easy short walk for breakfast supplies, and we loved the location opposite the historic Roque St Christophe. We explored the beautiful Vezere valley, went canoeing and ventured further afield to many others places in the Dordogne. Montignac is a beautiful local town and the Lascaux caves well worth a visit. Gites owners Paul and Philippa were on hand - discreetly - if needed. We would definitely recommend.

We stayed here 2 nights. The Roque Terrace felt large and comfortable for two people. The kitchen is nicely stocked with basic cooking equipment and ingredients. As hikers without a car, Paul and Philippa brought in some breakfast items for us and booked us into a couple restaurants within walking distance. When one of the restaurants closed without warning for the evening of our reservation, Paul drove us to a nearby town for dinner and picked us up afterward. both were readily available and happy to help us figure out how best to enjoy our time in the area.

We had a most enjoyable week in the Roque Terrace. The gite was very well equipped with beautiful views. The pool was an added bonus and we mostly had it to ourselves. Paul and Philippa were very sociable and couldn’t do enough for us. There is plenty to do locally...we enjoyed visiting a chateau, cycling, walking and kayaking and of course sampling the lovely local restaurants. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

We spent two fabulous weeks in the Haybarn. It was very spacious and comfortable and we loved the private patio which was so well equipped with chairs, table and sun loungers. The pool area was lovely and a great facility for when the weather is warm and sunny. The view of La Roque St Christophe could be seen from our bedroom window and the patio. a 15 minute walk took us to the site and it was very interesting to walk around and discover how life on the Rocque was like. Paul and Phillipa are great hosts and always around if you want them but very unobtrusive. They both gave us good tips on where to eat, visit, walk etc. The location is perfect as there are so many places to visit within 10 minutes to an hours drive away. They booked us our first meal at the village restaurant La Table de Moustier which was excellent and only 8 minutes walk from the site. The Boulangerie was within 5 mins walk and it was a real bonus to be able to visit it each morning for breakfast pastries and bread. Paul and Phillipa could not do enough for us and we can recommend the Haybarn and are hoping to return in the future. Thank you to you bot.
