We spent a glorious two weeks in La Roque Terrasse in September 2019 which is very comfortable and has lovely views of La Roque St. Christophe. Philippa and Paul are great hosts and do everything they can to make sure their guests enjoy their stay. There is so much to do within a short travelling distance that it is easy to find lots of places to visit over two weeks or longer. This was our second visit and we would love to return.

What a great place to stay! Le Manoir and its gites offer an outstanding and special setting in the peaceful Vezere valley and opposite the historic Roque St Christophe. Alongside the beauty of its location, a lovely pool and ample parking, a real appeal for us is the convenience of a boulangerie and an excellent restaurant within walking distance. Paul and Phillipa are kind, generous and considerate hosts offering helpful suggestions for walks and trips matched to your interests. In short - a wonderful holiday!

Our group of 8, 4 adults and 4 children stayed in the Tobacco Barn and the Walnut Store for 2 weeks in early July, enjoying magnificent weather. This was our second visit to Paul and Philippa's and as with our previous visit we were not disappointed, accommodation again was great, providing everything we required and once again Paul and Philippa were excellent hosts going out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The location of the gites is ideal for exploring the surrounding region, villages, markets, historic sites and much more and the children enjoyed bike riding, canoeing, swimming in the pool and river, walks in the countryside and the table tennis table provided many hours of fun. The village nearby has an excellent shop and restaurant, with a supermarket and a great selection of restaurants in the surrounding villages, all within a short drive from Le Manoir. All in all the ideal holiday location for all age groups. Thank you Paul and Philippa.

We spent a week with Paul and Philippa in July 2019. We were part of a larger group occupying 3 of the gites.
We found the gites to well maintained, well kitted out, clean and more than satisfactory for our weeks stay. The location is fantastic, rural enough to feel isolated, yet close enough to not be out of touch. Paul and Philippa were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Short walk to the local village and river, short drive to a larger choice of dining and shopping. Lots of opportunities to go on short day trips to really pretty local villages. In short, I'd be back and would have no hesitation in recommending it for both family and couples.

We've just returned from a wonderful week staying in La Roque Terrasse. The gite was perfect for us and we loved the outlook towards Roc Christophe. Paul and Philipa couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We had marvellous weather and being able to bbq in the evenings and relax on our terrace was just what we had hoped for. Will definitely plan a return trip.

The Manoir proved to be the house of character we expected. Your house was comfortable and easy to manage, with some very interesting decorative items such as the collection of old tins. Then there were the nesting swallows in the barn and the Lizard Orchids growing wild along the track and road-side which added wildlife interest to the fine flowery garden setting, while the view of Roque St Christophe across the valley was very impressive.
The location provided us with easy access to numerous nearby sites to visit including Lascaux IV with its extraordinary cave-art, the Maison Forte de Reignac built into the high cliff walls, and the town of Sarlat with its distillery and walnut factory as well as the famous market.
We are most grateful to you both not only for being excellent and amiable hosts but also for your help in dealing with the car repair problem we encountered. We also particularly appreciated seeing the old Leicester v Millwall football matchday programme from Paul's collection.
The Table de Moustier restaurant in Le Moustier village was an easy stroll away and we promptly made it our regular dinner venue. Both Eveline and Jean Claude provided excellent service and an imaginative, creative cuisine, including specially prepared menus, which we greatly appreciated.
Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay at Le Manoir which fully met our expectations, although the weather was mixed in early June, with some beautiful sunny blue skies albeit interspersed with some rainy days.

We really enjoyed every minute of our stay in the Haybarn, a beautiful French Gite with lots of originality We have just about come back own to earth... It was pouring with rain when we landed at Leeds Bradford Airport...a total contrast to what we left behind! I must admit I was a little emotional when we took off from Bergerac this morning! We will certainly be back!
